Good Earth State Park Family Photoshoot
One of my favorite locations for a family session: Good Earth State Park
Good Earth State Park has so many gorgeous trails and lots to explore for families. I am also such a fan of the winding road that leads you into the park as the location for family photos. This park feels like going on a road trip as a family or camping. This is also one of my favorite family photo locations in the Sioux Falls area for getting some beautiful sunset or golden hour photos. The sun sets perfectly over the horizon and I love to get that breathtaking golden light shining on families for an extra glow.
I loved capturing these moments for this sweet little family. We went with the look of the prairie dress to go with the landscape at Good Earth State Park. Chastnee planned their outfits to match that style and she nailed it. We started our session along the trail and picked some wildflowers together to get warmed up. I then had them walking around in the field together like a normal day. As the sun started going down we drove back to the entrance of the park along the winding road to get some more of the rolling hills in the background and explore that area together.
I love to let families just be during sessions and let them take it where they want it to. With these three we did just that and they made it their own to create a beautiful scene that felt natural to them. I gave a little bit of direction every so often to suggest where to go or remind them to hold hands but they were all naturals in front of the camera and did not need much assistance.
