Things To Include In Your Wedding Day Details
Planning your Wedding Day Details
Planning the details of your day is what will help us craft the story. When we dream of the day we get married, we often focus on the grand moments – the venue, the first look, the vows. However, it is the fine details imprinted on each part of the day that really bind the moments together to tell its story. These little details are the heart of your wedding day, so make sure you give them thought and attention.
The smallest moments of your wedding day are just as important as the big ones, and sometimes they are left forgotten or overlooked in the hustle-and-bustle of the planning process. These may include a special hanger for your dress/suit, your shoes, a piece of special jewelry – even down to a certain color added to your theme that carries meaning. This is a part of your day where you get to add your own creative touch while telling your love story or honoring a loved one. These little memories can be so fun to plan for and put together on your wedding day.
Detail shots.
The first thing I’ll do typically do when I arrive to where you are getting ready (after saying hello and gushing about how excited I am for you) is take some detail shots. It’s helpful if you gather everything so that it’s all together when I arrive. I suggest having it all in a box the night before or the week of your wedding since there is usually a lot going on the morning of your wedding.
Some items for detail shots can include…
— Rings
— Ring Box
— Invitation Suite ( 2 full sets with envelopes + stamps & any other paper stationary you may have (like program cards, etc)
— Jewelry
— Perfume
— Bouquet + Boutonniere
— Vows
— Ribbon
— Tie
— Suit
— Watch
— Dress + Veil
— Shoes
— Cuff links
— Wine or Champagne Glasses
— Something blue, something borrowed
— Any other sentimental details or anything you want photos of, throw them in there! I once had a bride bring her grandmother’s satin gloves. this is completely optional – but if you have something sentimental you’d like styled with your details, I love including family heirlooms in your detail shots.
— BONUS: Extra Flowers. I’d love to have a few cuts of the florals you’ll be using throughout your wedding day. If your florist will supply a small bucket of extra pieces I can incorporate those in your detail shots.
