Good Earth State Park has so many gorgeous trails and hilly backdrops, perfect for a dreamy engagement session. I am also such a fan of the winding road that leads you into the park as the location for engagement photos. Good Earth State Park is also one of my favorite engagement photo locations in the Sioux Falls area for getting some beautiful sunset or golden hour photos. The sun sets perfectly over the horizon and I love to get that breathtaking golden light shining on couples for an extra glow.
I loved capturing these moments for this sweet couple. We went for more of a country western look to go with the prairie landscape at Good Earth State Park. Maia planned her outfits to match that style and she nailed it. We started our session along the trail together, and I had them walking around in the field together like a normal date going for a walk. As the sun started going down we drove back to the entrance of the park. We stopped along the winding road to get some more of the rolling hills in the background and explore that area together.
I love to let couples just be during sessions. I let them take it where they want it to, in their loved-up element. With these two we did just that, and they made it their own to create a beautiful scene that felt natural to them. I guided these two through some poses that would bring out their natural smiles. I love to also remind couples to include some movement in each pose. They were naturals in front of the camera and I’m in love with the turnout of their photos.
