Hotel on Phillips Engagement Session | Janessa & Jory
The Hotel on Phillips in Downtown Sioux Falls, SD
The Hotel on Phillips is centered in downtown Sioux Falls right next to the riverwalk and on the core street in downtown, Phillips Ave. This is one of my go-to locations for a chic and classic styled engagement session. The Hotel also has the Treasury Bar next to the lobby area. The bar is a great spot to include some fun drinks in your photos for an old money look as well. The hotel itself has a unique build and historic style of architecture. The modern and city vibe of it makes it the perfect backdrop for photos.
As soon as I had my first conversation with Janessa and Jory I knew they were such a down to Earth couple and was so honored that they wanted me to get their engagement and wedding photos next year. I absolutely loved getting to know this sweet couple and capturing these moments for them during this session.
On Phillips Ave, Downtown Sioux Falls
The outside of the Hotel on Phillips makes the perfect backdrop for photos. I’ve taken photos on each corner and side of the hotel and they’re all amazing. I sometimes like to go to the riverwalk that is right behind the hotel for some photos when there is time or we’re looking to change up the scenery. I loved doing some motion blur photos with these two for a more nostalgic feel.
Parking Ramp Photos
There is a parking ramp just across Phillips Ave from the hotel that gives the perfect view of the downtown city. These two looked incredible and just had fun together throughout the shoot being themselves. Focusing on each other being in the moment in my opinion makes for the best photos. We caught a bit of the sunset at this time that we planned out for this shoot. The warmth of the sunset over the city made for a romantic end to their engagement session.
I’m so obsessed with how their photos came out. I would highly recommend doing engagement photos in downtown Sioux Falls around the Hotel on Phillips. I can’t wait to do more couples and engagement sessions at this location again for future photoshoots.
