Los Angeles Couple Photoshoot at the Griffith Observatory

The Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles, California

I honestly did not know that the Griffith Observatory existed before doing a little online research and photoshoot location scouting before my trip to Los Angeles. I looked around online to see a location that would have some interesting architecture or show off a more modern city vibe. When I came across the Griffith Observatory, I fell in love, and fell even more in love with this location in person. The Griffith Observatory is such a unique location and gives the perfect overlook of Los Angeles. The views were incredible and you can even see the Hollywood sign from this overlook. The only concern for this stunning landmark is the crowds. Thankfully, Lana and Chris were able to meet me in the morning before the observatory got too crowded and we had a breathtaking photoshoot. I absolutely loved getting to know this sweet couple and capturing these moments for them.

I can’t think of a better view than the Los Angeles skyline as a backdrop. It really is the perfect location for your Los Angeles couple or engagement photoshoot. This was my first time meeting Lana and Chris in person and they were so sweet. I learned that they recently got married and love doing life together in Los Angeles.

I loved how easy it was to get around the Griffith Observatory. This made the timing for the photoshoot go smoothly. It was such a plus to not have to walk very far to get to any overlooks. Also, the parking is free at the observatory if you go before noon on a weekday we learned. No need to walk for 10+ minutes to avoid paying for parking. I love all the stunning neutral tones around the building that made for amazing backdrops at every angle.

Around the Griffith Observatory

One of my favorite things from this photoshoot was the beautiful pockets of nature and greenery right around the building that were easy to get to. We passed a lot of runners and walkers during this shoot so this location was the perfect leisure spot for locals.

After getting some shots around the main overlook parts of the observatory, we ventured down the nature path. We followed this little path that was just to the left of the Griffith Observatory as you approach the building. It was just a short walk to get to the lower level of the overlook for more greenery and nature photos. These photos are some of my favorites and gave us the perfect backdrop of the Griffith Observatory.

I’m so obsessed with how their photos came out. I would highly recommend the Griffith Observatory to anyone looking to plan a Los Angeles engagement, couples session, or elopement. I can’t wait to visit this location again for photoshoots and for fun.
